Get Involved
There are many different ways to get involved with the Transcending Boundaries Conference. Below are just some of the ways that you can help make the 2012 conference even more amazing, we have opportunities to contribute for all different time commitments, locations, interests and abilities.
Organizer Meetings
Organizer Meetings are where we get together to report back on progress of the various committees and plan our future actions. These meetings are typically held in private homes throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut on the second Sunday of the month. We also use Skype to allow organizers from all over to listen in and share ideas. These meetings are a great way to jump in and get involved with a project. Check out the Event Calendar for when and where the next Organizer Meeting is.
Committee Meetings
If you are interested in a specific element of the conference, such as programming, you may be interested in attending a committee meeting. These are held in private homes throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut, where we work on the details of specific topics. Contact a department chair or check the Event Calendar for future Committee Meetings.
Become A Presenter or Panelist
The Transcending Boundaries Conference is a great opportunity to lead a discussion or a class on the topic you’ve always wanted, but couldn’t quite find the right match for. With a full weekend of panels, workshops, classes, and discussions, we’re seeking exciting presenters who want to share their knowledge.
Our Call For Presenters will be released in mid-March. Please stay tuned for more information.
Social Media
We are always looking for more people to help us spread the word about the conference through electronic social media outlets. Add us on Twitter, Facebook, or Google+ to get the latest news and share our announcements. Contact us for more information on how to join our Social Media Team and start getting the word out!
Fliers
We will have fliers and other goodies to download soon in a Media Kit. You can use our fliers for bulletin boards of your local community centers, shops or student centers (make sure you have permission from the owners!), or pass them around at events. We try to attend many different events throughout the year, so check the Event Calendar to see if we’ll be there. We always welcome new people to table-sit with us and help us get the word out!
Day Of Volunteers
Attending the conference, but don’t have much time before hand? Volunteer during the conference! It’s a great way to meet people and help the event. We’ll need people throughout the weekend to help, from setting up chairs and tables to working the information desk to collecting evaluations after classes.
Other
We’re always coming up with other needs - data entry, research, contacting organizations, and more. If you have a few minutes or a few hours, please contact us for more information about what we’re currently looking for and how we can get you involved!
